Troubleshooting on Mac

If you encounter issues with VoiceboxMD, here are some common problems and solutions. For additional assistance, contact support@voiceboxmd.com.

Invalid Password Error #

• Double-check your email and password.
• Forgotten Password: Click “Forgot Password” on the login screen and follow email instructions.
• Reset Password: Use the “Reset Password” option in the VoiceboxMD control panel settings.
• Ensure you are using the latest version of VoiceboxMD.
• Check that your technical setup is correct to ensure the app works well. e.g., make sure no firewalls are blocking VoiceboxMD.

After Successful Installation, VoiceboxMD Does Not Launch #

• This issue is often related to microphone connectivity. Make sure your microphone is perfectly connected and functioning. It’s highly recommended to invest in a reliable dictation microphone for the best results.
• Verify you have a stable internet connection with at least 30 Mbps. Visit fast.com to test your speed.

VoiceboxMD Repeatedly Asks You to Log In When You Click on the Microphone Icon #

If VoiceboxMD keeps repeatedly prompting you to log in, delete the VoiceboxMD cache and log in again.

1. Uninstall the VoiceboxMD app from your Mac.
2. Download and reinstall the latest version of VoiceboxMD from here: https://voiceboxmd.com/docs/mac/client/.
3. Open VoiceboxMD and log in again.

Poor Transcription Quality Issues #

If your transcriptions are inaccurate, consider these solutions:

• VoiceboxMD is responsive to pauses, background sounds, filler words like “er” and “um,” as well as incidental coughs. It is important to speak your words slowly and clearly. Take a brief pause every couple of sentences.
• Ensure that you connect to a reliable internet connection with at least 30 Mbps.
• Use a professional dictation microphone, like Philips SpeechMike 3500.
• Use a word processor with built-in grammar and spelling tools to refine your transcription.
• Be sure to choose the correct language from the Setting tab in the Control Panel. You can also increase the CPM delay.
• Add specific phrases and rapidly misspelled words to the Phrases tab in the Control Panel.
• Add unusual words to the VoiceboxMD’s built-in dictionary on the Vacabulary tab in the Control Panel.
• Create and save templates for common phrases or diagnostic terms in the Templates tab on the Control Panel.
